My Macbook Air (late 2010 with 256GB SSD) was always running out of hard disk space. I tried external drives and memory cards, but they were not convenient to be carrying around and plugging in when on the move.
The Jetdrive has replaced the internal 256GB SSD with one nearly four times the size of the original, which also seems faster. As a bonus... the original 256GB drive can be placed in a case and used as an external solid state drive.
Installation was fairly easy. All the tools were provided, including the special screwdrivers. The printed instructions were not very helpful, and you may need to look on the web to find the correct instructions to boot in recovery mode and copy the original drive onto the new one. Copying the old drive took several hours to copy 256GB but all went well without any problems.
I've now been using it for several weeks, and have not had any problems. It is great not to be having to juggle things around to make space on the drive any more.
I would recommend this to anyone with a similar model macbook air, as it is a lot cheaper than buying a new macbook.
