8 GB of RAM is standard and reported as "built into the computer" with an optional upgrade to 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM at the time of purchase for an extra US$200 or US$600, respectively. However, as first confirmed by 3rd party, it actually is possible to upgrade the RAM after the initial purchase of the Mac, it is just needlessly complicated.
