Performance for all older Mac models is limited at 1500MB/s Read and 1500MB/s Write due to PCIe 2.0 x 2 or 4 lanes wiring on the logic board. This is not a limitation of the SSD, it is a limitation of the Mac logic board PCIe slot wiring.
Only PCIe 2.0 speed 4x lanes and PCIe 3.0 speed 4x lanes enabled Macs can utilise higher speed up to 3000MB/s.
For example, MacBook Pro 2015 15" and 13" and newer can operate up to 2800MB/s Read and 1600MB/s Write at PCIe x 4 lanes.
See an example of PCIe lanes wiring on the models below.

SSHD 512 G
Excellent bit of kit, supplied with the right tools. Plug it in, upgrade the OS, the only tricky bit was getting the backup data off the Apple Airport backup drive. Simples

Very straightforward
I was a bit nervous about replacing the SSD in my McBook Pro. With Flex International I had absolutely no need to be. Communication with them was quick and clear, new SSD arrived two days after ordering and the installation was very straightforward. I watched the installation video several times to familiarise myself with the procedure. With the Mojave OS pre-installed it was a relatively simple process to restore. From struggling to find space on my 128GB SSD, now I've more than enough (for now :-)).

FLEXX LX300 512GB NVME SSD
Works just like it should. Much faster than original 128GB PCIe SSD installed as part of 2014 27" iMac fusion drive set-up. I also replaced the original 1TB HDD with a 2TB Samsung EVO SSD. This has enhanced what was already a good computer. Great delivery service from FLEXX: 4 days from ordering and despatching from Northern Ireland to home delivery in NSW, Australia. The two included TORX screwdrivers aren't sufficient for the tools needed to dismantle an iMac of this vintage, all the way to getting the motherboard out, which is necessary to get to the PCIe socket.

FLEXX LX300 512GB NVME SSD
Ordered on the 5th, despatched from Northern Ireland on the same day, and received by DHL in NSW, Australia on the 9th. The two TORX included with the SSD aren't enough to dismantle an iMac -- it's quite a complicated and fiddly job to get to the PCIe terminal underneath the motherboard. Now installed, the 512GB Flexx SSD works perfectly as the boot disk, with MACOS Big Sur and various apps. The Flexx is much faster than the original Apple 128GB SSD in my late 2014 27" iMac. I also replaced the original 1TB HDD with a 2TB Samsung EVO 860 SSD via the iMac's internal SATA connector. So lots of storage now, and the iMac flies. It should be good for a few years more. This was a great first experience, buying from Flexx. Thanks.

ssd
Arrived on time Fitted ok i think i should have gone for the bootable option as Apples OS / backup migration was a terrible exterience dispite having several time machine backups Great product is working well
