Description

Silverstone Dual M.2 NVME to PCIe x4 and M.2 SATA 6G SSD to SATA interface adapter card

Highlights

  • Converts one M.2 port (M key) into one PCI-E x4 interface
  • Converts a second M.2 port (B key) into SATA interface
  • Supports two M.2 SSD simultaneously
  • Includes optional low-profile expansion slot
  • No driver installation required

There are three types of M.2 SSDs, please make sure you know the difference between them and whether your system/motherboard support them before pairing these with your SilverStone product.

SATA (B key)
Used for SATA SSDs, and interfaced through the AHCI driver and SATA 3.0 (6 Gbit/s) port exposed through the M.2 connector.

PCI Express using AHCI (M key)
Used for PCI Express SSDs and interfaced through the AHCI driver and provided PCI Express lanes, providing backward compatibility with widespread SATA support in operating systems at the cost of not delivering optimal performance by using AHCI for accessing PCI Express SSDs.

PCI Express using NVMe (M key)
Used for PCI Express SSDs and interfaced through the NVMe driver and provided PCI Express lanes, as a high-performance and scalable host controller interface designed and optimized especially for interfacing with PCI Express SSDs. NVMe has been designed from the ground up, capitalizing on the low latency and parallelism of PCI Express SSDs, and complementing the parallelism of contemporary CPUs, platforms and applications.

Notes
  1. ECM20’s 'M' key is for use only with PCI-E SSD, 'B' key is for use with only SATA SSD.
  2. B key SSD requires SATA 7 pin cable connected to motherboard to function.
  3. Note : M.2 PCIe-NVMe mode SSD requires the use of Intel® 9 series (Z97 H97 Z170 X99) / AMD 300 series (A320 B350 X370) or higher version chipset motherboard with Windows 8 or higher version operating system.
  4. Note : If your operating system is incompatible with the expansion cards developed by SilverStone, such that your device can not be detected or recognized, please update your motherboard’s driver or BIOS to the latest version. You may also try executing compatible mode in your operating system and select previous versions of operation system to install driver required by the expansion cards.
